Ukraine-Russia War: 2026-04-28

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, stating that Russia hopes the Iranian people overcome current challenges and that Moscow will do everything to achieve peace in the Middle East. Araghchi thanked Russia for its support, calling relations a strategic partnership.

Units of the Russian Western Group of Forces captured the settlement of Ilyichivka (Ozerne) in Donetsk Oblast, while Seversk grouping took control of Taratutyne in Sumy region. Footage of the advances has been circulated on Russian military channels.
