IRGC says a supertanker carrying more than 2 million barrels of crude caught fire after hitting a naval mine in the Strait of Hormuz
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the tanker was using what it called an unauthorised route through the strait when it struck a naval mine and caught fire, Al Jazeera reported. The IRGC said the ship was carrying more than 2 million barrels of crude. Independent confirmation of the mine claim and the vessel's identity was not immediately available.
